Keynote Speaker

Chief meteorologist and HWPI co-founder Randy Jackson is passionate about the weather and concerned about its impact on people and organizations. He is a lively and engaging speaker who helps audiences understand the importance of preparing for dangerous weather events. For 22 years, he kept viewers in the Piedmont Triad area of North Carolina informed about the weather while working for a local TV station.

Randy earned the National Weather Association seal of approval, and he is certified as a lightning safety professional by the National Lightning Safety Institute. He has taught weather-related classes at the community college and university levels, and serves as an adjunct professor at Appalachian State University.

A member of the International Association of Broadcast Meteorologists, Randy has given presentations at two international hurricane conferences. He has been approved as an instructor by the North Carolina Department of Insurance and currently teaches continuing education classes on hazardous weather and flooding for businesses in the state’s insurance industry.
