Emergency Plan

Does your Emergency Operations Plan have an adequate provision for dealing with hazardous weather events?  Events such as ice, snow, tornadoes, tropical weather, and lightning as well as others, can greatly disrupt your operation, threaten employees and customers, and even force a shutdown.

Developing a plan is important but making sure it is understood is a must.  The Hazardous Weather Preparedness Institute specializes in conducting hazardous weather training.  Our staff has over 30 years experience working with business, industry, government and other groups interested in hazardous weather planning.

The Hazardous Weather Preparedness Institute offers three tiers of curriculum plus a newly developed all severe weather presentation module.  All programs will be conducted on-site at your location.  HWPI can also design custom programs and we offer certain presentations at discounted rates for community and public service groups.  Click on a link below for additional information.

In Depth Training Program:
This curriculum is our top program.  This program is designed to provide maximum focus on hazardous weather preparedness planning.  Attendees should include safety managers, department heads, or those charged with preparedness planning responsibilities in your organization. more

Advanced Training Program:
This curriculum is our mid-level program.  This unit is designed to provide those with the responsibilities of preparedness planning a comprehensive look at hazardous weather events and their impact in the work environment. more

Basic Training Program:
This is our general program and is designed for large audiences.  This module is designed for the entire employee base or those who do not have the direct responsibility of preparedness planning. more

"As a Safety & Loss Control representative for American Express, I am responsible for the safety of 2400 employees working at American Express's Greensboro call center. I have worked with the staff of HWPI on number of weather related projects, attended their corporate training seminars and have found them to be more than willing to help, very knowledgeable and able to meet the needs of our business. Most recently, they helped us strengthen our Severe Weather response program. They conducted training for our Evacuation Team, held awareness sessions for our general population, and helped oversee our first ever Tornado Drill (very successful exercise). I would recommend their services to anyone wanting to develop or improve weather related emergency response programs. They provide a valuable service and truly professionals and experts in their field."
