Jackson is the Chief Meteorologist and co-founder of the Hazardous Weather
Preparedness Institute. For 22 years, Randy Jackson kept North Carolina
Piedmont Triad viewers informed about weather while working for a local TV station.
He is still greeted with "Randy said it was going to be like this"
in his home town Greensboro, NC.
Randy
holds the seal of approval of the National Weather Association and is certified
as a Lightning Safety Professional by the National Lightning Safety Institute.
Jackson has taught a number of weather related classes at both the community
college and university level. Randy has served on the Advancement Council of
the Department of Arts and Sciences at Appalachian State University where he is
an Adjunct Instructor for the Fall term of 2007. Jackson is
also a member of the International Association of Broadcast Meteorologists and
has been a presenter at two international hurricane conferences.
Randy has
been approved as an instructor by the North Carolina Department of Insurance.
He is currently teaching annual continuing education classes on Hazardous Weather and
Flooding for various interests of the North Carolina insurance industry.
